Here is a plain record template for tracking customer relationships without unnecessary complexity. It includes client name, primary contact, preferred channel, relationship owner, status, last interaction, next action, open commitments, renewal or review date, and a brief history. Each section is short enough to complete after a call, yet detailed enough to support handoffs. I also added prompts for communication preferences, success criteria, risks, and notes on tone, so the next conversation starts with context. Use one row per client in a table, or copy the structure into your notes app. Keep dates in a consistent format and write updates in plain language. The template works for small teams and solo operators. Feel free to adapt the labels to your workflow, remove fields you do not use, and share your improvements so we can compare versions.
